Olive Oil: How Does It Compete With Others?

By Robert Sutter

I believe that olive oil has been highly regarded as one of the finest and for good reasons. That being said, there are other kinds of oil to take into account for the sake of culinary purposes and I feel as though it is worth going over what makes the olive variety so great by comparison. Is it because of its fat content or is it something much more than that? Regardless of what the case may be, this is how the oil that comes from olives manages to compete.

As authorities on the matter like Flavor Your Life can attest to, this is one type of oil that contains monounsaturated fats. What this means is that the body is able to utilize "good" fats, which is important to consider since the body does require fat content, regardless of how individuals might immediately think of the term. Olive oil is great for this purpose, so it's no wonder that so many people decide to turn to this option. In terms of healthful benefits, it's a product worth incorporating.

Even though there are different types of oil which contain saturated fats, this does not necessarily mean that they are unable to be used. Take coconut oil, for instance, as it is a product which can provide moisture to the skin in spite of its "bad" fat content. Keep in mind that it is also very much effective as far as limiting protein loss in the hair is concerned. If someone were to say that other oil types had no worth, I'd have to believe it's nothing short of an exaggeration.

The litany of uses that olive oil has, in my opinion, is what helps to make it that much better of a product. Of course, it can be used for many culinary purposes but what about its other uses that can be seen in the home? If you are looking for a better moisturizer without having to bother with conventional products, this oil can come into effect. If you require a product to give wooden surfaces another layer of shine, this product is more than up for the task.

I think that the various uses of olive oil help to make it great and it should not be regarded as a limited product by any means. Its antioxidant and fat content alike help to make it that much better and it has more than earned its common moniker of "liquid gold." If you have been on the fence about purchasing this type of oil, you can put such concerns to rest. If you are able to utilize it well in your care, the benefits that it can bring will be hard to deny.
